Sesh Ghale awarded honorary doctorate by Australian University

Kathmandu December 11- Non-Resident Nepali Association President Sesh Ghale is being awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Australia-based Federation University for his contribution in the higher education sector and conservation of heritage in Australia including his service towards Nepal and Nepali people.

NRNA President Ghale was awarded the honorary doctorate amid the graduation ceremony of the university on Wednesday.

Australia-based business entrepreneur Ghale and his spouse Jamuna Gurung are the founder and CEO of Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT) that is providing education to some 3,000 local and foreign students.

Likewise, Ghale and his wife have acquired various properties of historical significance through MIT Group Holding, and have been renovating them to preserve the Australian heritage.

The husband-wife duo has established a charitable fund of Rs 1 billion through MIT Group Foundation to invest in health and education sector in Nepal. Distribution of relief packages for the earthquake victims and during the ongoing Indian blockade are being done through the fund. Likewise, the foundation has announced to setup a maternity ward at Janakpur-based Regional Hospital. Source: TKP
