Proposal to decrease tax, duty and VAT on Electricity projects to 0.1%

Kathmandu November 26- Energy Development council has handed five-point short term proposal to Ministry of Finance to reduce and manage the energy crisis. On Wednesday, a team lead by Chairman Sujit Acharya submitted the proposal to Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel.
Finance Minister Poudel ensured to carry out those proposals which could be implemented. "Efforts were made in the past to declare state of energy emergency however it could not be implemented, he stated," this time, preparations are being finalized to declare energy emergency for a certain time to achieve certain objectives. For that matter, all necessary issues will be concentrated towards energy development" he stated.
