Saptari CDO recalled

Kathmandu November 23- The government on Sunday recalled Saptari Chief District Officer Anil Thakur for failing to perform his duties effectively.
Highly-placed sources at the Home Ministry said CDO Thakur was recalled for failing to coordinate district security forces, resume the blocked transportation along the East West Highway and contain the protest in the district with minimal damages, along with other duties.
His replacement has not been named.
Police said two persons had died when police fired at protestors to resume vehicular movements along the East West Highway in Bhardaha and Rupani of Saptari district.
The agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha has, however, claimed four persons died when police fired at their peaceful protest in the district. Source: TKP
