Everest Bank along with 12 BIFs partners with UNNATI (A2F) Program
Kathmandu November 8- Everest Bank along with 12 other Bank and Financial Institutions signed an agreement with UNNATI- Access to Finance (A2F). Everest Bank Limited (EBL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to partner with UNNATI- Access to Finance (A2F) program on November 6, 2015 at Hotel Radisson.
As per the press release published today, The MOU was signed in the presence of Deputy Governor of NRB Mr. Maha Prasad Adhikari, by the Chief Executive Officer of Everest Bank and the National Program Director of the UNNATI (A2F Program). The function was also attended by various dignitaries including Deputy Chief of Mission (Denmark) and the Chairperson of Nepal Banker Association.
Nepal Rastra Bank together with United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is implementing an Access to Finance (UNNATI-A2F) program for commercialization of the agricultural sector which has a key priority to strengthen market-based growth with the focus on reducing poverty and improving the living standard. Further, it also has focus on improving Financial Competencies of the rural households including small holder farmers & MSMEs among others.
As a part of its efforts to promote financial inclusion in the country, Everest Bank has already developed & expanding a techno-based product called Mobile ATM, which is a Branchless Banking initiative of the bank to cater to the financial requirements of the remote areas especially from the unbanked region. The bank already has more than 500 Business Correspondents across the country to support this initiative.
