Curfew relaxed in Birgunj for three hours
Birgunj November 4- The curfew imposed in Birgunj after violent protests on Monday has been relaxed for three hours from 8 am to 11 am this morning.
One person was killed near the Shankaracharya Gate close to the Nepal-India border on Monday.
As there were random clashes between the protesters and security personnel, the local administration had continued with the curfew order yesterday also. Two persons were injured in a bomb attack yesterday.
Parsa District Administration Office had clamped the indefinite curfew order after security personnel used force to disperse cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front, who had been staging a sit-in at Miteri Bridge in Dasgaja area of Birgunj for the last six weeks.
The curfew will be resumed after 11.
Meanwhile, the UDMF cadres and the police are still clashing against each other in Laghuwa. No reports of casualties have been reported yet.
