Leaders who are running for Presidency

Kathmandu October 26- A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the ruling CPN-UML has picked leader Bidhya Devi Bhandari as its candidate for the presidential election. A leader present in the meeting informed that Bhandari was decided as the party’s presidential candidate.
Former Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang was another leader on the fray for the post. However, most party members believe in giving opportunity to new person than repeating same person.UML had organised an all-party meet on Sunday to gather support for its candidate.
Nepali Congress, also present in the meeting, had informed that it would field its own candidate in the election. Current President Ram Baran Yadav, Kul bahadu Gurung, Khil Raj Regmi are some names that ruled out for the presidency candidate in Nepali Congress. The election to select the president and vice president will be held on Wednesday.
