150 thousand ton aviation fuel imported through NAC for domestic flights during Dashain

Kathmandu October 18- Continued obstructions at the India-Nepal border points, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has imported around 150,000 tons of aviation fuel so far.
After holding bilateral talks with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) in coordination with the NAC brought fuel for domestic flights sufficient for a week, the RSS reported.
The NAC has decided to import the fuel to transport passengers to their respective destinations during the festive time, NAC spokersperson Ram Hari Sharma informed.
The fuel was purchased from a depot of the IOC in Kolkota.
According to the RSS, the NAC had brought 33 tons and 30 tons on Thursday and Friday respectively.
The fuel was handed over to the domestic flight operators, Sharma informed. He, however, said that the NAC had already halted to distribute fuel to the international flights.
The national flag carrier has decided to bring 330 tons of fuel in this way till October 23, Sharma said.
According to Deepak Baral, spokesperson of the NOC, the supply of fuel would not be easy until the obstructions at the border points were lifted.
