Ghale re-elected as NRNA president

Kathmandu October 15- Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Shesh Ghale was re-elected to the post on Thursday. Ghale defeated his rival candidate for the post Tek Bahadur Karki during the 7th general assembly of the NRNA held in Kathmandu. Ghale garnered 867 votes while Karki settled for 226 votes. Ghale, who first went to Australia in 1990 as a student, was elected as NRNA president in 2013.
The objective of NRNA, established as a non-profit making social organisation in 2003, with motto ‘For Nepali by Nepali’ is to unite the Nepalis residing abroad, promote and safeguard their interests both in and outside Nepal, mobilise their contributions in the interests of Nepal.
Founding President Upendra Mahato led the association from 2003-2009, followed by Dev Man Hirachan (2009-2011) and Jiba Lamichhane (2011-13). Ghale is the fourth President of the NRNA.
