Govt decides to operate fair price shops during festive season

Kathmandu Oct 15- The government has announced to open fair price shops in view of the ongoing Dashain, Tihar and Chatt festivals. The Department of Commerce and Supply Management (DoCSM) is coordinating with National Trading Limited, Salt Trading Corporation and Nepal Food Corproation to open fair price shops.
The meeting decided that DoCSM will provide necessary fuel needed to operate transport services which will be coordinated by Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi who will also look over the operation of fair price shops. The government has also decided to set up 10 Citizen Help Desk inside Kathmandu and 12 outside the valley to assist people travelling during the festival in coordination with Traffic police, read a press statement issued by Assistant Spokesperson at Prime Minister’s office Chiranjivi Poudel.
