Commercial banks spent Rs. 18 billion on employees

Kathmandu October 15- 30 Commercial banks operating in country have spent Rs. 17 billion 803 million on their employees during FY 071/72 which is 14.37% higher than previous year. In FY 070/71, amount spent on employee increased by 18% to Rs 15 billion 566 million.
Government-owned commercial banks Rastriya banijya Bank, Agriculture Development Bank and Nepal Bank are still ahead of private sector banks to spent maximum amount on employees. Though their financial report shows certain improvement in management of employees still they are up front in employee expenses.
These state owned banks give logic of having higher numbers of branches and employees than private banks for their excessive staff expenses. Although, these banks lacks excellent employee management.
