Six Small Farmer Agricultural Cooperatives to merge

Rupandehi Oct 8- Six small farmer Agricultural Co-operatives are merging together in Rupandehi. Earlier this year, government declared many VDCs into Municipality which have caused confusion in operational as well as in functional areas. Thus for the first time in Nepal, as a 'pilot project', 6 cooperatives of Rupandehi are being merged.
Earlier, one VDC one small farmer Agricultural Co-operative policy was executed with membership of local farmers. After transmission of VDC into Municipality, there was confusion in functional area of Agricultural cooperative and Small Farmer Agricultural development bank. Cooperatives operating in Shanker Nagar, Aananda ban, Kahariya, Madhawaliya, Tikuligadh, and gangolina VDCs of Rupandehi are in the process of being merged.
