Bankers ask for concession from Central Bank

Kathmandu October 4- Bankers went to meet Governor to showcase the problems of banks caused by closure of industries due to tarai movement since last two months and blockade made by India since two weeks.  President of Bankers association Mr. Upendra Poudel, President of Development Bank Association Mr. Krishnaraj Lamichane and President of Finance Company Association Mr. SarojKaji Tuladhar went collectively to meet Governor Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal and requested for banking concession on the situation derived from recent disturbances.

Bankers mostly demand on loan restructure, increment in loan payment period, fine and interest discount and certain concessions and facilities over the closure of industries caused by tarai unrest and blockade made by India.

Deputy Governor Mr. Mahaprasad Adhikari, Executive Director of Banks and Financial Inst. Regulation Department Mr. Shivanath Pandey, Executive Director of Bank Supervision Department   Mr. Narayan Poudel, Executive Director of Office of the Governor Mr. Trilochan Pangeni were among those who met bankers in the meeting. In the meeting Mr. Anil Shah of Mega Bank and Mr. Gyanendra Dhungan of NB Bank also kept their problems in front of Governor.
