Remittance inflow up in Solu in post-quake period

Solukhumbu, June-7 Solukhumbu district has seen a significant increment in remittance inflow after the devastating April 25 earthquake.

As per the records of half dozen financial institutions run in Salleri, around 70.5 million remittance amount is received in the district in a month.

The remittance inflow has increased after Solu folks, who are earning their daily wages abroad, started sending a big chunk of money for reconstruction and temporary arrangement as most of their houses were destroyed by quake.

Branch Manager of IME, Salleri, Sita Bhattarai, said that Rs 700,000 remittance has been received in the district through IME daily.

Similarly, Salleri Branch Manager of Number Money Transfer, Bhanubhakta Upadhyay, said remittance inflow in the district has increased by 20 per cent through his company and Clean Energy Development Bank.

Likewise, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Salleri, and Sagarmatha Merchant Bank, Salleri, each received some 13 million as the remittance money in a month, the banks said.
