Army day today, special function at Tundikhel

Kathmandu, Feb. 27 – The Nepal Army is observing the Army Day today with a special ceremony at the Army Pavilion Tundikhel this afternoon.
Supreme Commander-in-chief of Nepal Army President Dr Ram Baran Yadav will attend the function as the chief guest, along with other dignitaries.
Nepal Army marks the Mahashivaratri festival as the Army Day with a spectacular display of parade, firing of salvo, fireworks and aerial tactics, among others.
The formal organizational structure of present Nepal Army was established in 1819 B.S. and is presently a military force of some 95,000 army personnel led by Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana.
