Power supply crisis hits SLC appearing students

Gaushala (Mahottari), Feb. 16 – The power crisis caused by technical glirch in the electricity transformer has marred students appearing in the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations scheduled to begin from March 20.

 

The students of Kishannagar village in the district have been adversely affected with the power supply disruption for the past one month.

 

Nem Kumar Thakur, a SLC student, said the authority concerned has remain apathetic to carry out necessary maintenance to ensure smooth supply of electricity that has direct bearing on SLC students.

 

According to a local teacher Matrika Prasad Pokharel, the transformer with 100 KV  capacity, which remained dysfunctional after its explosion a month ago, has yet to be repaired. The lack of timely intervention from the authority concerned has compelled local people live in dark, he added.

 

Likewise, some 500 households of the village have faced various problems in lack of power shortage for a month.

 

Locals are unable to charge the mobiles, operate communication services, listen to radio and television (TV) and operate water-lifting motors for irrigation due to power shortage, locals complained.
