Property worth Rs 10m gutted as garment factory catches fire

Kathmandu, Feb 5 – Property worth Rs.10 million was destroyed when a garment factory based in Bhimsengola, Kathmandu caught fire on Wednesday.
A garment factory owned by one Dilli Rijal near Kathmandu Ward.no-34 office caught fire due to to what has been confirmed as as electric short circuit at around 8 in the morning today, police said.
Preliminary police investigation revealed that property worth Rs.1million were reduced to ashes. Ready-made clothes and machines at the factory have been destroyed due to fire .
The fire came under control after about an hour following joint efforts from the police and the locals. The garment factory used to export clothes to USA, among other foreign countries.
