DDC allocates Rs 170.2 million to upgrade 17 roads in Sankhuwasabha
Sankhuwasabha, Feb. 2 – The District Development Committee (DDC), Sankhuwasabha has allocated Rs 170.2 million to upgrade different 17 roads in the fiscal year 2070/71 with the financial assistance received from the British Department For International Development or DFID.
The DDC is all prepared to call tender for the upgrading work of the roads connecting to the district headquarters, said Kaji Man Rai, administrative officer at the DDC.
The roads are in a dilapidated condition therefore the DFID has provided financial assistance to upgrade them and ease traffic, said Rural Access Programme (RAP) III, chief Krishna hungana.
The DDC has said that the office will provide assistance for upgrading those roads which were on high priority.
Of the 23 roads connecting to the district headquarters, only 17 have been selected for upgrading in the current fiscal year, DDC sources said.
