9 children rescued after bread factory raid in Chitwan
Chitwan, Jan 26 – The Chitwan police on Saturday morning raided various bread factories here.
The raid was carried out on the basis of reports that the factories were employing child labourers, said Chitwan Police spokesperson Sanjaya Raut.
In the raid, police rescued nine children working in the bread factories. The rescued children are now at the District Police Office.
However, the proprietors of the factories employing children could not be arrested, police said.
Meanwhile, the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a land revenue official here on Friday as he was accepting a bribe of Rs. 8000 from a service recipient.
Nayab subba at the Bharatpur based unit of the Land Revenue Office, Ram Prasad Neupane was caught red handed taking prime from Ratna Kumari Pokharel of Bharatpur municipality, police said.
