Industrialists call for strong industrial security in Parsa

Birgunj,jan 15 – A discussion programme on peace and industrial security concluded here today, stressing on strong security in Parsa.

The programme was organised by the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Chamber President Ashok Kumar Baidya pointed out the need of collaboration between security bodies and business community to ensure industrial security in the district. He lauded the role of Nepal Police in strengthening security in the district.

Criminal activities taking place in the country of late have posed a challenge to the security arrangement in the district, he said, urging the Nepal Police to go ahead with the modern technology to combat crimes.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Prakash Aryal said the police organisation was fully dedicated and honest to its duties and responsibilities and was working accordingly. He sought support from the business community, civil society and other organisations to have a sound security in the district.

Chamber’s senior Vice President Pradeep Kediya and Vice President Subodh Gupta praised the role of Nepal Police in controlling criminal activities in the district. Kediya pledged to honour a police officer and other policemen who were successful in arresting an accused in the killing of Jeetpur-based trader few days ago, even by putting their lives at risk. They will be honoured at the upcoming general assembly of the Chamber, he said.

Of the total investment made in the country's industrial sector, the district covers around 70 percent and it contributes 60 percent to the total revenue collection. Around one hundred thousand people are directly and indirectly employed at the district –based industries.
