Nepse Above 800, Gained by 72 Points

Kathmandu, Dec.22- Nepse index exceeded 800 points during previous week. It had closed 732.95 on Sunday, 16th December (the first trading day of the week) and reached 805.35 at the close of Thursday, 19th December (the last trading day of the week). The market floor was open for four days. The market was closed on Tuesday due to public holiday.

In the week, the ‘hydro-power’ sub-index increased the highest by 148.00 points closing at 1828.57 points. That was followed by the insurance sector sub-index which increased by 107.28 points.

Similarly, the banking sub-index also increased by 92.39 points closing at 826.93 points. There was no change in manufacturing and processing sub-index during the week.

Share price of Everest Bank increased the highest by Rs 315 per share during the week closing at Rs 2330.

Due to heavy increase in the Nepse, circuit breaker was applied time to time on remaining three days of the week except Sunday.

Shares of 130 companies were traded at Nepse during the week through 9,798 transactions amounting to Rs2,106,740,000. The transaction amount is 34.64 percent higher than that of earlier week. The total number of scrips traded was 5,000,710which is 1,732,084 scrips less than that of earlier week.

During the week the share price of 97 companies increased, price of 9 companies declined and remaining companies' shares price remained unchanged.

NB Bank topped the list in terms of transaction amount (Rs 218,619,000). Kist Bank topped in number of scrips traded during the week. Altogether 546716 scrips of the bank were traded during the week. At the same time, Kist Bank was at the top on the basis of the number of transactions (570).
