EC allocated the seats under the PR electrol system

Kathmadnu, Dec 3 – The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday has officially allocated the seats under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system won by the political parties in the Constituent Assembly election held recently.

 

"The EC has officially allocated the PR seats and has set December-10 as the deadline for the political parties to submit the name-list of candidates as per the allocated seats," said EC Spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai.

 

As per the seats allocation, the Nepali Congress has obtained the highest number of seats 91, CPN-UML has got 84 seats, UCPN (Maoist) 54 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal got 24 seats.

 

Likewise, Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Democratic and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have obtained 10 seats each.

 

Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP) and Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Nepal have secured seven and eight seats respectively.

 

Similarly, four parties have obtained three seats each while  three parties got five seats each.

 

As many as 10 parties have secured one seat each and five parties have got two seats each.

 

Meanwhile, as many as 15 disgruntled parties including UCPN (Maoist) have boycotted the all-party meeting called by the EC saying that the election was not held in free and fair manner.

 

They maintained that they will not attend such meetings until a probe committee is formed to look into the case.
