Chairman Regmi directs to make voting systematic and peaceful

Kathmandu, Nov 18 – Chairman of the Interim Election Council, Khil Raj Regmi, has on Monday directed the four security bodies of the government to work with full capacity and willpower to conduct the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) in a systematic and peaceful manner.

At a review meeting of security situation held at the Office of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar this morning, Chairman Regmi directed the chiefs of security bodies to carry out works restlessly at the last hour of the CA election.

Creating environment for voters to vote without fear at all the polling centres across the nation, said Regmi´s Press Advisor, Bimal Gautam.

The meeting also discussed to foil the activities to be perpetrated by the CA election boycotting groups and on giving continuity to the actions as per the law adopted not to allow anti-election activities to occur.

Chairman directed the chiefs of the security bodies to direct their officials to be on standby for necessary security arrangement until the results of voting as security personnel would be deployed day and night for the security of the country and people.


Assuring of strong security of all the polling centres of the country to hold voting in a free and fearless manner by guaranteeing people´s voting rights, he again urged voters to cast votes without fear.

Minister for Home Affairs, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Chief of Army Staff, Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana, Home Secretary, Janardan Nepal, Inspector General of Police, Upendrakanta Aryal, APF Inspector General, Koshraj Wonta, Chief Investigation Director at the National Investigation Department, Moti Bahadur Gurung, as well as high –officials of the security bodies were present on the occasion.
