11 injured in Mahottari bus accident

Mahottari, Nov. 15 – As many as 11 people were injured in a bus accident at Maisthan in Mahottari district Friday morning.
The bus, Na 4 Kha 4736, en route to Kakarbhitta of Jhapa from Kathmandu rammed on the side of a bridge at Laxminiya VDC-5 at 5:30 am today.
The passengers who sustained injuries in the accident are 45-year-old Ambi Prasad Pokharel, 13-year-old Sonika Pokharel, 25-year-old Madhav Rai, 22-year-old Ram Kumari Rai and 40-year-old Shantiram Bhujel of Jhapa, 18-year-old Devraj Tamang and 48-year-old Kami Tamang of Dolakha, 14-year-old Nista Kafley, 56-year-old Chhatra Bahadur Rai and 20-year-old Suraj Budhathoki of Morang, and 49-year-old Hiramani Pokharel of Sunsari, the Area Police Office, Bardibas stated. The injured are being treated at the Shuva Swastik Polyclinic at Bardibas.
According to passengers, the bus that was running in high speed overturned on the road after hitting the side of the bridge.
Personnel of the Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police reached the accident site and rescued the injured.
