Life normal in capital, 10 arrested

Kathmandu, Nov 13 – The transport strike called by the 33-party alliance is being ineffective gradually.

The transport strike was foiled after laborers of the lower class and communities themselves started the services.

Although it was said to be a closure, some private and public vehicles are running regularly and educational institutions, industries and factories are fully operated from today.

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has organized a peace rally in Kathmandu saying the bandas had made negative impact in the economic sector.

As compared to the first day of the banda on Monday, more vehicles are seen running today and educational institutions, industries and shops have been opened.

Police have arrested some 10 banda enforcers trying to close from various places, said police spokesman SSP Ganesh KC.

He said life is normal in the valley since morning and necessary security arrangement has been made.

Meanwhile, government has observed special security alertness in the valley to make life normal.

All the three bodies of security forces have been mobilized in the streets of Kathmandu valley.

Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been patrolling in sensitive places and vehicles are run with the help of mobile and escorting services.
