Khanal accuses UCPN (M) of cheating people

Sarlahi, Nov 12: Chairman of the CPN-UMLJhalanathKhanal has urged voters not to persuade by false assurances of political leaders.

Accusing the UCPN (Maoist) of intending to win the Constituent Assembly (CA) election by manipulating the people, the UML Chairman said, "It is really unfortunate for the nation that people are manipulated by political leaders to get their votes."

Laying the foundation stone of a building of the party´s regional office at Ishworpur in the Sarlahi Constituency No. 1, party Chairman Khanal said, "It is just a foolish idea to believe that one can win the election by giving false assurances to the people."

He is going to contend for the November 19 CA elections from this constituency also besides his home town in Ilam.

He further claimed that his party was committed to incorporating basic needs of the people in the new constitution and establishing them as their ´fundamental rights´, adding that a concept about multiple-identity based federalism put forth by the party was meant for maintaining communal harmony and protecting national integrity.

The former Prime Minister urged the people to openly defy the banda and strikes announced by targeting the election and take part in the election fearlessly.
