Over 4000 employees to be deputed for CA polls

Kathmandu, Nov 7 – Over 4000 employees are to be deputed for holding the constituent assembly election on November 19.

 

The task of selecting employees to be mobilised on election duty has already been completed and training is planned for these employees from November 7 through 13, the Office of the Chief Election Officer stated.

 

Six hundred and forty-eight polling booths have been fixed at 286 places in Jhapa district which has seven electoral constituencies. Accordingly, 86 polling centres have been planned at 32 places in constituency-1, 89 booths at 35 places in constituency-2, 91 booths at 51 places in constituency-3, 100 polling booths at 38 places in constituency-4, 107 at 53 places in constituency-5, 77 at 42 places in constituency-6 and 98 at 35 places in constituency-7. Apart from this, seven temporary polling booths have been fixed at seven places.

 

Chief Election Officer of Jhapa district, Ramesh Kumar Khatri, said that election preparations are underway in a vigorous manner and the required election materials have arrived in the district.

 

He said no complaint of violation of the election code of conduct has been received in writing so far. Khatri added that all the election publicity materials like hoarding boards, posters and banners of parties and candidates placed on electricity poles along the 75-kilometre stretch of the East-West highway from Kakarbhitta to Damak have been removed.

 

He also stressed that necessary consultations are being held with security agencies for the management of the security for the election.
