NA squad disposes bomb

Surkhet, Nov. 1 – At least two bombs were found in main market area of Surkhet district headquarters, Birendranagar, on the way to Surkhet airport this morning.
The explosive devices were detected on the way when Unified CPN (Maoist) leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai was returning Kathmandu from Surkhet.
A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army (NA) defused the bombs detonated by unidentified group, immediately, said the District Police Office, Surkhet.
The police team had cordoned off the area for security after locals informed security force about the detonation of bomb on the road.
Local people were terrorized after knowing the incident.
Police speculated that the bomb might have been placed by CPN-Maoist targeting leader Dr Bhattarai after knowing the route he was travelling.
Meanwhile, the CPN-Maoist has announced Surkhet shutdown today in protest against the arrest of its cadres and to disrupt UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson's arrival to Surkhet on November 2.
