33-party alliance enforces transport strike

Myagdi, Oct 31 – The alliance of 33-political parties led by the CPN-Maoist has enforced a transport strike in Parbat, Baglung and Myagdi districts on Thursday.
Transport service on the national highway and other roads is closed due to the strike, causing inconvenience to the people.
The alliance called for a transport strike to thwart the election campaign programmes which the UCPN (Maoist) chairman is scheduled to attend in these districts today.
Min Bahadur Baniya, the District In-charge of the Alliance and the CPN-Maoist´s District Co- in charge, said the transport closure has been organized as per their programme of barring the leaders of the four major parties from entering the districts.
Meanwhile, a UCPN (Maoist) cadre came under attack at Singa of Myagdi district on Wednesday night.
