CPN-Maoist calls Siraha banda today

Siraha, Oct 25 – The CPN-Maoist has called for a Siraha district banda (strike) today targeting the arrival of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for his door-to-door election campaign, according to a press release issued by Jitendra Singh, Maoist District In-charge here.
However, despite the call for a banda, vehicles are smoothly plying along the East-West Highway and markets are also open at the main chowks in the district.
Meanwhile, improvised explosive devise (IEDs) have been found in two different places in the district.
One IED was found at the premises of Village Unit Committee Office of UCPN (Maoist) at Muksar VDC and another one at the premises of Saraswati Secondary School at Jamadaha-3.
It is noted that Chairman Dahal was scheduled to address an election gathering at the school premises at 5:00 pm later today.
The bombs were found concealed under black flags. ´Who planted the bomb it is yet to be ascertained´ said Inspector Bimal Prajuli at Area police Office, Golbazaar.
