Paddy production rises by 25 percent

Kathmandu, Oct 9 – Paddy production has increased this year by 25 percent. Pady production has increased to 2 lakhs ton from 1 lakhs and 60 thousands – Chief of Agriculture development Office -Hikmat kumar Shrestha informed.
The paddy cultivation area this year has reached to 52 thousands and 5 hundred hector. Due to the low productivity of maize in the field paddy cultivation was made instead of the maize. The local farmers have used Hybrid DY 69 DY 18 and 6444 numbers paddy this year.
According to Agriculture department, The Hybrid paddy cultivated per hector is giving 11 ton of production.
