Cabinet approves ADB loan assistance

Kathmandu, Oct 3 – The meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has decided to approve the loan assistance of Rs. 7.35 billion to be received from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of the South Asia Sub Regional Economic Assistance Road Network Project.

 

Finance Secretary and Joint Secretary are assigned to sign the agreement on behalf of the government.

 

Similarly, the meeting decided to send the Reconciliation Act 2068 BS proposed by the Ministry of Law and the regulations to the Bills Committee and implement. It also decided to send the Mutual Legal Cooperation Regulations 2070 BS of the Ministry of Law and Justice, CA and Parliamentary Affairs to the committee.

 

The meeting decided to implement the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations 2070 BS of the Finance Ministry by sending it to the Bills Committee, said government spokesperson Madhav Prasad Poudel.

 

The government also gave consent in principle on the proposal to attract strategic partner in Telecom on Nepal Telecommunication Company Ltd as per the proposal of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

 

The government decided to give consent to the participation of two-member delegation led by Minister for Physical Infrastructure at the meeting on transit of Asian ministers to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 4-8 and defense conference to be held in third week of October in Beijing led by Defense Secretary Atmaram Pandey and five-member delegation led by Forest Secretary Dr Ganeshraj Joshi to participate in the meeting of Asia Pacific Forest Commission in Rotorowa of New Zealand to be held from November 8- 15.

 

It also gave approval for the visit of Secretary Rajumansingh Malla delegation to fifth UN Convention against corruption to be held in Panama City in November and Secretary Dhruba Prasad Sharma in the meeting in Australia from October 23-30. The meeting decided to implement the Environment Friendly Local Governance Framework- 2070 BS, said Poudel.

 

The meeting also accepted the resignations of the Board Chairman of National Housing Company Ltd. Binay Kumar Karna and National Dalit Commission Members Raju Prasad Chamar and Khemraj Nepal and consented CoAS Gaurav Shumsher Rana to participate in the 16 Th chief of defense meeting to be held from October 21-24 in Honolulu, USA.
