UCPN(Maoist), CPN-Maoist cadres clash in Salyan

Salyan, Oct 3 – Clashes broke out between the UCPN (Maoist) and the poll-opposing CPN-Maoist at the Old Bus Park at Khalanga in Salyan district this afternoon.
Around one dozen cadres of the two sides were injured in the clashes and are undergoing treatment at District Hospital and local medical centres.
Lokman Budhathoki, State Committee Member of the UCPN (Maoist) and Chairman of the Salyan-Rukum Transportation Operators Association , has received injuries on head.
Similarly, District In-charge of the CPN-Maoist, Asal Chhetri, Shyam Bhandari, Ganeshman Singh, Keshavraj Sharma and Bodhiram Bista, among others, were injured in the clash, according to the CPN-Maoist.
Condition of Bhandari is critical, said the party.
The clashes took place when cadres of the UCPN (Maoist) were going to file nominations at the time when the CPN-Maoist, Salyan, was burning effigies of the four major political parties at noon today.
The district headquarters, Khalanga, is in tension due to the clashes. Police brought the clash under control after 20 minutes.
