Courts to hear habeas corpus cases during Dashain holidays

Kathmandu, Oct 2 – Although courts will close for the Dashain festival holidays from 5 to 18 October this year, they will, however, remain open for hearing into habeas corpus writs during that period.
The courts will remain open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the purpose of hearing into habeas corpus writ petitions during that period. The writs would be registered until 1 p.m.
However, the courts will remain closed on the day of Ghatashapana on October 5, Bijaya Dashami on October 14 and on Saturdays, Assistant Spokesman at the Supreme Court, Baburam Dahal, said.
