Cabinet approves to retain 601-member in CA

Kathmandu, Sep 17 – The High Level Political Committee's has decided to retain 601 seats in Constituent Assembly. A Cabinet meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singhadurbar this afternoon has forwarded a 25-point ordinance to remove the constitutional hurdles and hold the CA election.
The talks with the dissident CPN-Maoist had failed yesterday as it stuck to the demand of Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi's resignation as the Chief Justice.
The government has sent the ordinance to the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas to amend the Interim Constitution.Earlier on March 13, prior to the formation of interim government, the four major parties had agreed to reduce the CA size to 491
