Banda hits normal life in Birgunj

Birgunj, Sep 15 – The banda enforced by CPN-Maoist-led-33 party alliance has hit hard the normal life in Birgunj and adjoining areas since early Sunday.
The alliance has called the banda demanding postponement of the stipulated date of the Constituent Assembly (CA) election and protesting against the hike in the price of petroleum products.
The regular transportation is disrupted on the highway and branch roads in the area. Markets and educational institutions and industries are closed.
Meanwhile, the banda enforcers of the CPN-Maoist-led 33 party alliance and police have clashed in Banepa, Kavre this morning.
Police baton charged and arrested some 15 protesters from Banepa bazaar.
The locals had defied the banda after the banda organizers attacked a local Araniko TV journalist, Dev Ram KC.
Lkewise, the entrepreneurs and traders have defied the banda in Charikot bazaar, Dolakha district. A tussle occurred between the banda enforcers and local entrepreneurs morning. Police have arrested some protesters from Charikot bazaar.
