Dry port to be constructed in Banke
Banke, August 31 – A dry port is going to be constructed as an international trade and transit centre at the border area of Banke district as per Nepal-India agreement.
As agreement was signed nine years ago between the two countries, now mapping works are begun by acquiring 90.8 bighas of land for the construction. Land has been acquired in Jayaspur and Saigaun villages west of Nepalgunj Customs, the District Administration Office (DAO) said, and one third budget has been allocated for its protection.
Tender has been called for the construction and works of construction of other infrastructure will also be started in the dry port .
As per the agreement, the Indian side will start works of infrastructure after arrangement of land by Nepal. RSS
