Students vandalize micro buses for denying student discount

Saptari, August 20 – Two micro buses were vandalized at Rajbiraj in Saptari on Tuesday for not providing discount on fare to students as per the agreement.
Irate students threw stones at two microbuses, injuring three passengers on board the vehicles. A microbus (Ko 1 Ja 1165) heading towards Biratnagar from Rajbiraj was vandalized near the Rajbiraj-based hospital whereas another microbus was vadalised at Mangsapur along the Rajbiraj-Hanumannagar road section.
Following the vandalism, police have arrested two students-Dilip Yadav and Ramchandra Yadav-for their alleged involvement in the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh Chaudhary at the District Police Office said.
Treatment of injured Shibashankar Mandal, 27, from Morang Municipality, Prabhu Narayan Yadav, 45, of Bishnupur VDC-3, Saptari and Radha Devi Yadav of the same locality is underway at the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.
Students here have padlocked the counter of Micro Bus Entrepreneurs Association since last Thursday, calling for the implementation of an agreement of giving 45 per student discount on transport fare.
