Investigation begins on Adhikari murder case

Chitwan, August 14 -The District Police Office, Chitwan, is to consult the Government Prosecutor´s Office, on Wednesday, regarding the murder case of Krishna Prasad Adhikari, of Fujel from Gorkha district, who was murdered after abduction in Chitwan.

 

The government had directed the Police Headquarters for the same and it had written to the District Police Office, Chitwan, for investigation following pressure from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The investigation process is to be started from today.

 

Pradyumna Karki, Chief of the District Police Office, said he will consult the Government prosecutor´s Office today itself and forward the case.

 

Adhikari was murdered after abduction on Jeth 24, 2061 B.S. by the then CPN (Maoist) when he was in Chitwan to meet his relative.

 

The government had postponed the case at a time when the investigation on it was going on saying a Truth and Reconciliation Commission would be constituted to look after the cases for the incidents occurred during the national insurgency.

 

Adhikari´s parents, Nanda Prasad and Ganga Maya are in fast-unto-death for a week demanding that the guilty of the incident should be brought to book. They have been admitted to the Bir Hospital following complications on their health.
