Seven killed after landslide in Ramechhap

Ramechhap, August 13 – The continual rainfall in Khimti VDC of Ramechhap has killed at least seven and six others have gone missing in a landslide.
The deceased are identified as Mitho Thapa, 55, his son Kedar Thapa,13, daughter Swasthani Thapa,23, of Khimti-4, and Sita Sunar,13, of Khimti-3, Bhim Bahadur Tamang,55, his wife Batuli Maya Tamang and another woman of Rasnalu VDC-1.
Including Dhalk Tmang, 12, of the same family and five others have gone missing in the incident. A rescue operation is underway at the incident site which is located some 16 km north of Manthali, the district headquarters.
According to police, three people have been rescued alive and they are undergoing treatment at local health center. Meanwhile, the flood has also swept aways a bridge due to whcih road transport has been disconnected.
