low students enrollments in plus two at Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur, August 11 – The hgiher secondary schools operated in Kanchanpur are reeling under crisis due to low enrollment of students in the current educational year.

Even the educational institutions here have been unable to remunerate teaching and other supporting staffs. The nominal rate of students´ admission – which is the major source of income to provide teachers with salary and allowance – has troubled the school administration to operate regular classes in a smooth manner.

Consequently, some of the higher secondary schools in the rural area are on verge of closure due to nominal enrollment of students.

It may be noted that the low admission is attributed to lower pass per centage rate of students in the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination, students´ attraction to go for study in private colleges based in urban area, said Principal of Shree Krishna Higher Secondary School, Dabal Bahadur Bista.

The humber of students enrolled in grade 11 last year was 115 while it has whoppingly decreased to 20 this season, he added.

´Lack of students in plus two education is resulted when only two out of 55 students passed the SLC examination´, Bista further justified. ´We are waiting the students passing chance exam in SLC´, he added.

The school is in the state of indecision whether to continue plus two classes with the emergence of such problems, he informed.
