Birdflu detected at 8 more areas in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur, August 08 – Government had made a week long ban on the chicken products since 16th of the Shrawan. The meeting held between chicken traders and government on Wednesday decided to call out the ban after the traders forced on their demad to reopen the ban. The ban was supposed to open since 4pm on Thursday.
For the detected virus of birdflu in chickens at Bhaktapur, Nepal Government has started its activities to destroy chicken in infected areas.
As per the report in kantipur, Dr. Narayan Prasad Ghimire at the Department of Livestock Services has informed that the strain of H5N1 virus was confirmed in the chickens at four farms in Jhaukhel, two farms in Chitpol and one farm each in Tathali and Sipadol.
