Birdflu hits mutton price to rise heavily

Kathmandu, August 5 – After the government had given order to ban chicken sales in Kathmandu valley, mutton price has rised in the market. Mutton price has reached to Rs. 800 per kg on Sunday.
Similarly the rate of live goats has also increased. Goats are being traded at 420-430, per Kg in Kathmandu khashi bazaar. Live goats were at the rate of Rs 370-375 per kg before the flu.
After the shortage in chicken and heavy price rise in mutton, the demand of fish has also been increased in valley.
As per the information provide by local mutton sellers, the market has competition on getting live goat. They have loosed their bargening power as comparison to earlier price.
