Govt approves delegations going abroad
Kathmandu, Aug 1 – The meeting of the Council of Ministers held Thursday, has decided to promote Salin Kanta Adhikari, Under Secretary, Nepal Administrative Services, Revenue Group, to Joint Secretary of the same group.
The meeting also decided to promote Bal Krishna Shrestha, Senior Divisional Engineer at the Ministry of Urban Development and Department of Building Construction, to Gazetted First Class Officer and that approved the resignation of Bishwa Kanta Gautam, Deputy Auditor General of Office of the Auditor General.
The government has decided to send Dr. Ravindra Kumar Shakya, Vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission to participate in the South Asian Regional Co-operation for National Food Security Strategy Strengthening Policy Dialogue programme scheduled to be held on August 13 and 14 in New Delhi.
The cabinet meeting has decided to form a Nepali team for the talks for grant assistance of Rs. 23.5 million US Dollars to be received from World Environment Fund through the Asian Development Bank and 4.6 million US Dollars through Nordic Fund for the Mountain Watershed, Climate Change Adaptation Project amounting to rupees 2.67 billion.
Similarly, the meeting also constituted a delegation led by Minister for Finance to participate in the SAARC Ministerial meeting scheduled to be held on August 29-30 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Minister for Finance would also participate in the meeting of SAARC Development Fund Board, said Madhav Prasad Paudel, government´s spokesperson.
Likewise, the government has decided to send a two-member delegation led by Dr. Somlal Subedi, Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment to attend a two-day workshop on ´Beginning of the New Mechanism and High Level Mechanism´ to be held in West Indies on July 13-14.
