NT revenue increases to Rs. 37 billion

Kathmandu, July 29 – The total revenue of Nepal Telecom (NT) has increased to Rs. 37.60 billion in the fiscal year 2012/13 as compared to the previous fiscal year. NT's revenue was Rs. 36.79 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, the state owned company projected Rs. 41.65 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year 2013/14, which is 10.77 percent more than last fiscal year.

However, the projected net profit of the company declined to Rs. 10.59 billion in the last fiscal year 2012/13 compared to the profit of Rs. 11.60 billion of the previous fiscal year.

Similarly, the company aims to generate net profit of Rs. 11.96 billion in the current fiscal year. It also decided to pay Rs. 20.37 billion as taxes to the government for the last fiscal year while it has projected to pay Rs. 21.35 billion for the current fiscal year.

It also plans to distribute around 2.91 million telephone lines besides its other services nationwide in the current fiscal year.
