3 killed‚ 32 injured in road accidents
Kawasoti, July 28 – Three persons were killed and 32 others were injured in separate road accidents in Nawalparasi and Makawanpur districts on Sunday night.
Two people died on the spot and four others were injured when the jeep they were travelling in fell some 300 metres from the road at Bojhapokhari along the Daldale-Bulingtar road section in Nawalparasi.
The jeep (Ba 2 Cha 3963) was heading towards Bulingtar from Kawasoti.
Those killed in the accident are Nandu Neupane and Prakash Basyal of Kawasoti, police said.
Maniram Tiwari and Susan Tiwari of Bulingtar and Raj Kumar Sigdel and Ramji Kunwar of Kawasoti have been injured. Tiwari is said to be in critical condition and he has been send to Bharatpur for treatment. The others injured are receiving treatment at local Devchuli Hospital.
The accident site is 27 kilometres north of Kawasoti.
Likewise, one person died in a road accident that took place at Churiyamai along the Hetauda-Birgunj Highway last night.
A bus (UP 7230-2998) heading to Jagannathpur of India from Kathmandu collided with a truck (Na 2 Kha 9302) heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj and fell some 20 meters from the road. An Indian man was killed on the spot and at least 28 others were injured, said the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
The deceased is Mitha Lal Joshi (60) of Sitamadi district in India. Among the injured, some have returned home after first aid treatment and the critically injured two are receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital. The truck driver is absconding, said police.
