Policeman shoots self‚ critically injured

Nepalpgunj, July 28 – A policeman shot himself in the chest in an apparent suicide attempt here on Saturday afternoon.

Sabindra Thapa who works at the Armed Police Force (APF) Base Camp at Kusum shot at himself in the chest with an SLR he was carrying at around 1.00 p.m. on Saturday, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Shrestha of the Ilaka Police Office Kohalpur.

He was critically injured and is receiving treatment at the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital. He was recently demoted from the post of Assistant Head Constable at the APF's Bageshwari Battalion.
