UCPN Maoist extended meeting begins
Kathmandu, July 19 – The extended meeting of the Unified CPN (Maoist) called for finalizing organizational issues has started this afternoon.
According to Chief-Secretary of the UCPN (Maoist) Party Headquarters, Hitman Pandey, the meeting has been started at Khanna Garment, Balkumari of Lalitpur district.
Around 500 persons including central office bearers, central members, central advisers, heads of different sister organizations of the party, district coordinators and guests are participating in the meeting.
At the extended meeting, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to submit an organizational report and report regarding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election scheduled to be held on November 19.
The UCPN (Maoist) has called the extended meeting after the Vice-Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai decided to quit his post in the central committee meeting few days ago.
The General Convention of the party held in February failed to finalize the portfolios for office bearers, standing committee members, politbureau, and central departments though it had finalized chairman, vice-chairman, general secretary and some other party responsibilities.
The UCPN (Maoist) had a dispute regarding organizational structures though it passed Capitalist-People´s Democracy as the political course of action.
