Govt set to announce budget today evening

Kathmandu, July 14 – The government is all set to present the budget of the fiscal year 2070/71 on Sunday.
Finance Minister of the Interim Election Council Shankar Prasad Koirala will present the budget for the next fiscal year at the Dr Harka Gurung Hall of National Planning Commission at around 5:30 today evening.
The Finance Ministry is learnt to have decided to come up with a budget of Rs 510 billion.
Due to intense pressure from various political parties including President Ram Baran Yadav's concern against bringing an ambitious budget, the budget will not be ‘populist’ and will be devoid of new programmes.
There will not be major changes in tax structure either, it is learnt.
