Bhanu Jayanti being celebrated across the Nation

Kathmandu, July 13 – 200th birth anniversary of pioneer poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya ‘Bhanu Jayanti’ is being celebrated across the country. Bhanu Jayanti is being  celebrated  organising various programmes.

 

Unfolding the ceremony of Bhanu Jayanti Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi offered flowers at the statue of Bhanu Bhakta at the Durbar High School in Ranipokhari this morning.

 

Acharya is honoured in Nepal as a  first person to begin the tradition of composing verse in Nepali language. he is also popular for  translating the Hindu epic Ramayan from Sanskrit to Nepali.
