Community forest awarded in Illam

Illam, July 12 – District Forest Office, Ilam, has awarded three community forests among the 200 community forests for their contribution in forest conservation in the district.
Pathibhara Community Forest of Mahamai VDC-9, Sirjana Community Forest of Shantipur VDC-3, and Choyatar Community Forest of Jamuna VDC-8 were declared the first, second, and third, respectively, for their contribution in protecting the local forests.
They were provided with Rs. 7,000, Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 4,000 and certificates, said District Forest Officer, Rajendra Kafle.
The forests were awarded for their contribution in environment conservation, wildlife protection, and performing various other promotional works for the forest conservation, stated the District Forest Office, Ilam.
